September 27th, 2023 (Cleveland, OH) - Special Deeds Inc. will host a charity golf outing on Monday, August 5th, 2024, at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course located at 9445 Brecksville Road in Brecksville, OH. Proceeds from the event will benefit Special Deeds Inc. and the numerous charitable programs the organization funds.

Golfers will tee off in a shotgun start format at 9:00am. The round of golf will include two longest drive holes and 2 closest to the pin holes for higher stakes and ultimate competitive action. An awards and recognition luncheon will be held immediately following the round.

"I am eternally grateful for the continued support of our sponsors, participants, volunteers and our community for help in making this event possible. Most of all I'd like to thank the wonderful people we aim to serve, for inspiring and believing in us as much as we do them", says Don McGee, the Executive Director of Special Deeds Inc.

A National Center for Biotechnology Information study found the proportion of all children who are identified as having a disability in the U.S. has steadily increased each decade since the 1960's. The definition of disability has evolved to encompass a variety of factors that influence impairment due to biomedical and contextual factors, as well as functional limitations and barriers to effective participation in usual childhood activities. Low-income families with a child who has a disability may be particularly vulnerable at times of economic hardship. Moreover, adults with disabilities make up approximately 12 percent of the U.S. working-age population; however, they account for more than half of those living in long-term poverty, according to the National Council on Disability. Special Deeds Inc. is committed to assisting these individuals and families to help improve quality of life metrics.
